CRAWFISH BOIL
One of the fun festivities we had was a SOUTHERN CRAWFISH BOIL while Chris, Jenn, and Ayden were here. Ayden loved reaching in the container where they were at and coming out with one to hold. As you can see from the photo he was not scared at all of them. We ended up boiling 3 sacks making 150 pounds of crawfish. That was a LOT! Chad and Damian were our cooks and they had the recipe down to a science! YUM was it ever good. And I had strawberry cake by Paula Deen made for dessert! The evening was a success. Lots of fun.
We took Ayden to the zoo and to a place with inflatables for him to bounce on while he was here. The other days he just played in the pool and rode his bicycle Papa bought him. We also would go down to the park and play here in the subdivision too. After a week of being here we made a road trip back to my old house I grew up in as a child. Since my parents are deceased, my aunt and uncle now own the house. They invited us to come and have lunch with them. We arrived for a 1:00 lunch and oh my was the food delicious. All home grown veggies! YUM. We all took turns riding on the 4 wheelers going down into the pastures seeing how the old place had changed through the years. Of course Ayden was in HEAVEN there. Lots to see and do. Cows, Chickens, Roosters, Rabbits, Dogs, Horses, and I'm not sure what all else I'm leaving out. It was a fun afternoon!
Of course on Wednesday morning it was a sadness that set in. Suitcases came out and were loaded up again. Gosh that feeling sets in and you just hate seeing your kids leave like that. It makes you hate having them so far from you or even having a son in the military that takes him from you so far away. I don't wish him to not be in the military, I just don't wish for separations. It had been since September this time since I'd seen them. That is much too long to go. Chris leaves at the end of summer on the ship for his long period at sea..... A dread for us all. He will return in January just around when the baby is due. Not sure if he will make it back for the birth. They they move a little farther away up to Newport, Rhode Island.....
Jenn and Ayden will be moving to TN while Chris is gone to sea. So Bob and I will be making trips this fall to see them.
I have not made a card in two weeks now. And I have to get busy and back into the groove again. I have Father's Day coming up so I need to start back working on cards.
Everyone have a great weekend...
